Publication of Report on Waste Management in Communes

The Law Office KSP Legal & Tax Advice has prepared a report on waste management in communes and related new legal regulations. The report is based on the results of a survey carried out by Millward Brown SMG/KRC. The purpose of the research was to obtain information about the current role of local governments in managing the waste stream, determine the extent of cooperation amongst local governments, as well as between local governments and entrepreneurs. The issue of waste treatment plants was discussed broadly. The research also concerned entrepreneurs engaged in municipal waste management activity. The questions posed concerned mainly financial and organizational readiness for the upcoming changes, investment plans, in particular involvement in construction and operation of waste processing stations, as well as readiness to become involved in ongoing cooperation with communes. The first presentation of the report was at the International Conference Innovative Waste Management. Technical, Economic and Legal Aspects, organized by the Silesian University of Technology from 16 to 18 November 2011.
